You might assume most of my students live here in Nottingham. In fact, only about half do. The rest travel in from Sheffield, Lincoln, Leicester, Loughborough, Derby and further afield — because when they looked for singing lessons near me or tried local teachers, they didn’t get the results they were looking for.
Singers soon realise that finding the right vocal coach matters more than finding the nearest. That’s why people are willing to travel — or switch online — once they’ve seen the difference focused coaching can make.
How it works
Many search for singing lessons near them, whether that’s singing lessons in Sheffield, vocal coaching in Leicester, singing teacher in Derby, or wherever they might be located. Often they start with a vocal coach that is local to them, but they find the results aren’t anywhere close to what they’d hoped for.
Such focused clients eventually find me online, and either work with me in-person, or online, or sometimes a mix of the two. I have even had clients travel from the middle of Wales for their singing lessons, scheduling entire trips around their vocal coaching.
At the same time, also have clients who live only a few miles away that chop and change between in-person singing lessons and online lessons, simply for the convenience.
It’s tremendously beneficial to have the first few sessions in-person if you can manage it. It helps build rapport and get your voice up to speed as quickly as possible.
