What a Vocal Coach Actually Does
A “Vocal coach” is not the same as “singing teacher” or “style coach.”
A vocal coach diagnoses and improves the mechanics of your voice — breath strategy, resonance, registration, onset, and stability — so you can sing the music you want with control and ease. A singing teacher may focus on repertoire and general instruction. Often polishing what is already there, rather than giving you what you lack. A style coach develops stylistic choices (phrasing, tone colours, stage craft).

What’s the difference between a vocal coach and a singing teacher?
Vocal coaches specialise in mechanics and performance application — diagnosing and changing how the voice functions. Singing teachers often focus on repertoire and general skill-building. I cover both when needed, but my clients hire me for technical change with results.
How soon will I notice results?
Most singers feel change in the first session; durable results depend on short, consistent practice in the months/years that follow. We make sure you know exactly what to practice and why.
Do you work with beginners?
Yes — if you’re committed. I work with serious beginners through professionals. The common thread is motivation and follow-through.
Online or in-person — which is better?
Both work. Online is efficient and records easily; in-person gives instant piano-accompanied feedback and room acoustics. Choose what helps you stay consistent.
Location & Reach
I’m based in Nottingham and work with singers across the UK online. In-person sessions are held at my studio, where you will also be accompanied with an high-end Feurich 133 Concert piano.
